Day 2: Yesterday was a good day! My happiest moment was taking the kids to their yearly physicals and seeing how lucky I am to have healthy, semi-well-behaved, funny, social kids. Sophie is in the 95th percentile for height and weight, and Daniel's in the 95th for height and 90th for weight. We grew 'em big! Sophie didn't need any shots, but Daniel had one (chicken pox) - he was such a trooper though, he watched the nurse give it to him and just said "Ow, that hurts!" No tears. :o)
Day 3: Today was a little stressful. Rain this morning, work was a little much at some points, and then bedtime...well...it is what it is. But amid all of that, there's this image:
Daniel's class planted sunflower seeds at the end of the school year, and he's been talking all summer about how they're going to get big. We didn't imagine they'd be almost as tall as the building though! I was so glad we decided to check them out on our way to the park today, the kids couldn't believe their eyes!

The Happiness Project: Day 1
So apparently Oprah is doing this thing - for 30 days, share the happiest moment of your day? I heard about it over on my friend's Kristen's blog. And it actually made me come find this blog, which has really never been posted on, but I'm glad I grabbed the domain forever ago, because I do still adore beige. :o)
Happiest moment of my day today? Hearing Sophie taking slow, even breaths and knowing she was finally asleep. :o) I'm sorry, but it's been one of those days where the kids were absolutely NUTS, and I had a lot of work to do tonight, so I was glad she didn't fight me at bedtime like she usually does and just went to sleep, peacefully, as I rubbed her back.
Another happy moment was the realization that I'm off work tomorrow! And even though I have to take the kids in for their physicals, I'm thrilled to not have to drag myself out of bed before 6. :o)

Shades of Beige
A while back my husband and I had a conversation that involved the Imagination Movers, wall colors, and my regret over never having learned to play the drums. Out of this conversation, Shades of Beige was born. :o) Shades of Beige is my imaginary band, my decorating concept, and a little peek inside my head. Welcome!
